Description

(2025 Update) A newer version is now available (Version 2 here)

This version features a significantly improved electronics housing with a built-in ESP32 mount, dedicated mounts for the motor and motor controller, and a slightly larger LED housing. The redesigned LED housing now eliminates the need for glue. On the software side, the code will be enhanced with improved WiFi recovery, greater stability, and better logging.

This is the version 1 housing that stores the ESP32 and motor for the Bambu poop chute conveyor application.

The 3 circles for the LEDS need to be printed in PETG transparent filament so that the light shines through, you might be able to use white but I have never tried it will not be as good results.

The ESP32 source code that monitors the Bambu printer and runs the motor:

Some of the parts I used for this build:

Its not pretty but I hot glued the LEDS in place. I stuff all the electronics in there and its pretty much done. In the next version I'm going to make a better motor connection with the box. Currently my motor rest against the wall, works well but not a great long term solution. This first version was made in Fusion in about 40 mins. I plan to put a few more hours into version 2 and refine the design.

Note: I've noticed that this does not work right if the “Flow Dynamics Calibration” is not turned on when starting a print. I'm looking into another way to determine when a print starts.
