Description

I'm really impressed with Flower3D's work on this 7 segment mechanical display.

I had already seen this concept on YouTube, but the technical solutions adopted by the author are very interesting.

So here is Flower3D version 3.0 of its single digit manually operated mechanical counter.

I remixed the model by optimizing the printing profiles, re-organizing and renaming the plates, smoothing some surfaces to reduce friction.

I also modified the segment parts by adjusting tolerances and adding chamfers to increase their resistance.

In the profile provided, you should print only one of the two plates named 'segments, shafts and springs'. The first one has the remixed segments parts.

To assemble the display, refer to the author's guide.

You will also need the following unprinted parts:

  • 1x Rubber band (recommended 2mm x 60mm) - for D-segment
  • 1x Rubber band (recommended 2mm x 100mm) - for A, B, & C segments
  • Push-Action Option A: 2x Coil Springs (4mm x 50 mm): https://amzn.to/4cZHilr (affiliate author's link)
  • Push-Action Option B: 1x Rubber band (recommended 3mm x 60mm)
