The Dark Energy Lab Saturn 4 series drip bib

Here is my design for the “Elegoo Drip Bib” we should have gotten with our Saturn 4 printers. I designed this in Fusion 360, and as always the .F3D files are included. Dark Energy Labs supports an Open-Source culture. NO COMMERCIAL USE!!!

NOTE: The Bambu profiles with the dovetail cuts have been replaced with the dovetails removed. Some of the sub objects(the dovetails) were not being included after the 3MF file was uploaded. I am working on getting this sorted out now!!! My Apologies for the inconvenience!!!

For this design, the following criteria was placed the forefront:

  1. Drip resin needed a way to go back into the vat and not be wasted in paper towels.
  2. The printer exterior needed to be protected.
  3. The back side of the printer section behind the vat needed protection as well.
  4. The tray of the bib should allow for easy cleanup (all interior edges are rounded, to steer drips toward the vat).
  5. A Small overlap of the vat, so that squeegeed resin should not sneak under the new bib (not rounded).
  6. Bumping the new bib should not knock it out of place or crush it.
  7. Secured by provided hardware (I suggest the Shipping screw version) however I have made a cutout version for the “Vat Knob Screws” as well) M4x65mm Screws are what we got as shipping screws. (easily sourced on Amazon; not currently found on Maker Supply)
  8. Build plate drip adapters should be compatible.
  9. The Ultra’s vat could be up or down.
  10. The build plate could be lowered below the edge of the new bib (if you choose to wipe the resin from it back into the vat.)
  11. Vat cover compatibility just incase resin retrieval back into the vat was not desirable.
  12. Room in the back for Elegoo heater or mini purifiers.
  13. Prints flat with little to no supports.
  14. Reduced sharp edges.
  15. Could be cut in slicer software for smaller printers. (Bambu Lab Dovetail cut version for the X1 series for both models provided)

Boost Me (for free)

Dark Energy Lab makes no money for ANY of our 3D Maker work. So thanks for a Boost if you can. If not Then thanks and I hope this design is helpful, easy to print and enjoyable!

Because overkill is underrated!!!
