Description

Dinosaur Jigsaw Puzzle Set - Assemble Your Own

Unleash your inner paleontologist with this 3D printable Dinosaur Jigsaw Puzzle Set! This kit features six unique dinosaurs, allowing you to print and assemble their fossilized bones into prehistoric displays. Whether you're a dinosaur enthusiast, a puzzle lover, or looking for an educational activity, this set is good for fun and learning.

Included Dinosaurs:

  1. Mosasaurus
  2. Parasaurolophus
  3. Spinosaurus
  4. Stegosaurus
  5. Tyrannosaurus Rex
  6. Triceratops

This is the absolute smalles size possible! If you print this smaller some bones will disappear. You should however be able to scale it up. Even at this size my chubby fingers needed tweezers to asssemble.

I have now also crated a kid-friendly version with fewer and bigger parts.

I printed this with a 0.4 nozzle but for details you could use a 0.2 nozzle and I am sure it would look even better.

If you just want the fossil as display you can add all 3 Elements as one in Bambu Studio to print it as a stable objekt. there should still be spacing in between the floor and the bones but that shouldn´t be a problem.

Please note that some bones parts are very small so this print is not suitable for little children.

Yes scaling it up might be a good idea. I personally liked the idea of it being as small as possible. If scaling it up is not enough I also uploaded a kid friendly version with bigger pieces

How does one print the small bones properly? Just tried to print it on my x1c with 0.2 nozzle on a freshly cleaned smooth plate, I got many of the smaller parts coming loose and spaghetti issue ... with some bits blown off the plate too.

hey @icerabbit It printed fine for me. Have you tried maybe adding a brim or lowering the printing speed especially on the first layer?

Thanks for the fast reply. Did you print on the smooth plate? I will try slowing it down. Was hoping not to add anything that would require cleaning.

great idea, I scaled it up by 120% but still a bit small for my 5 year old grandson - if you were thinking of doing a kid friendly version I would be really interested !!!

I might regret this later when I have to reprint all the "bones", but currently the plan is to trust the kids to take a pack and build their own dino 😅 We’ll see how this goes, but I already had a lot of fun, thanks for the model! (had slight layer adhesion issues so I canceled my first print of the bones, but I upped the temp and used some 3Dlac, nothing dared to move)

How would you advise to merge the plates, if you want to print them fixed? I tried merging both objects, but then I don't get the bones in the print.

Hey, I think the best way is to download all 3 files (base, bones, and text) and then drag them into bambustudio at the same time. There should appear a popup asking if you want to import it as one objekt with multiple parts. Thats the way to go!
