Description

I designed a working to scale (approximately 1:45) model of a Telehandler. Inspiration was the JLG 742 model.

https://www.jlg.com/en/equipment/telehandlers/jlg-telehandlers/742

Features of the model

  • To scale to preserve fidelity
  • Easy print with no additional hardware required
  • Telescoping and pivoting boom (print in place)
  • Rotating wheels with front wheels having independent turning clearance
  • Forks are on a ball joint and can be pivoted
  • Only 4 print plates needed

Print

Pretty straightforward PLA print and assembly

Chassis - Axles require small supports , cab roof does not need any

Wheels - Print with hub caps facing up, no supports

Boom - Print standing up, will print with no supports. I added a raft so it would not topple over

Fork - Lay flat with forks pointing up, no support

Pins - Can be added to any of the above prints

Hello. Cool model but how did you get the inside of the boom to free up? I printed it standing up but the insides wont move.

Thanks for replying and sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I never got a notification for some reason. It was a setting in my slicer. I made a change here and there and after a couple of prints with the different settings, it slid in and out fairly easy. I used a small sander, like they use in manicure shops and smoothed it out so it works pretty good now. I printed it for my son who works for an auction that sell heavy equipment.
