Build Plate Removal/Insertion Accessibility Tool

Notice: This tool may cause aesthetic scratches to the decorative cover on the heat bed's Magnet Pad. As per Bambu Lab, it does not affect the efficacy of the magnet. 

I had recently taken this model down upon learning this, but since then I've received such positive feedback urging me to put this model back up because of its benefits to those with finger/hand mobility difficulties. I'd love ideas for improvement, and hope this tool helps you with your use case. 

Build Plate Remover and Insertion Tool 

This tool allows you to lift and remove a hot build plate with minimal warping, to allow it to cool elsewhere, as well as insert build plates without handling them directly.

• Helpful for those with arthritis, peripheral neuropathy, carpel tunnel, and other difficulties lifting with the fingers
• Lift and remove build plates too hot to touch, to allow to cool outside the printer
• Keeps fingerprints from build plates
• Tested removing 90 degrees C build plates, printed from PLA print.
• Printed in PLA works well, however printing in a higher temperature-resistant filament than PLA may help with long-term durability
• Prints in place without support (Brim recommended but not required, cuts down on ringing)

Available for 2 thicknesses of build plates:

• Standard - up to 1mm thick build plates such as Bambu Lab Cool, Engineering, Smooth PEI, Textured PEI sheets
• NEW! Thick - up to 2mm thick build plate such as Garolite, Lightyear G10, WhamBam PEX, Bambu Lab Holographic sheets, and others.
• NEW! [BETA] A1 Mini Edition - up to 1mm thick build plates such as Bambu Lab Cool, Engineering, Smooth PEI, Textured PEI sheets 
  • This design may be larger than is necessary for the magnet bed on the A1 mini, if you do print it out, please accept my apology if it's overkill, and I'd love any insights on making it better since I don't have a Mini to test with.
