Parkside Bench Drill Spring Damper PTBM710 +others
Print Profile(1)

Description
The spring on this bench drill is undampened and prone to snapping back if you don't hold the lever, this particularly annoying when using it one handed.
I have designed this collar to go around the man support shaft and allow tension to induce a variable amount of friction and therefore offering a degree of damping or even lock.
In order to assemble you will need the following parts:-
* M6x60mm coach bolt
* M6 square nut (you can use a hex nut but will either have to remux the nut slot or glue in in place
* 2 M4x25 crosshead screws/bolts
You will need to undo the two allen bolts that hold the shaft to the base and remove the base, remove the two small screws under the slider assembly. Locate both the printed sleeves in the printed collar (the ring side to the top), slide the collar all the way up to locate under the slider and use the M4x25s to secure in place. Reattach the base and slide the M6x60 in the printed knob, through the printed collar and into the nut. Ensure the nut is located in the cutout (or glued if using hex) and use knob to increase/decrease tension.
