Description

I have uploaded an optimized version here.

Gridfinity baseplates with standard 6x2mm magnet holes in each corner.

You can screw multiple baseplates together using the holes on the sides and standard m3 nuts and bolts.

The empty center saves you filament and reduces the print time without sacrificing durability or strength

Wonderfully sturdy. I added a bedside shelf using folding hinges, then attached a 4x4 baseplate and a cable guide. Now it safely holds (and charges) all my bedside essentials! Two requests -- a 1x4 version to use up the remaining space on my shelf (I've got an A1mini so 4x4 is my max print size). I'd also enjoy screw holes in the bottom of the baseplate for attaching to a surface. Next project will be for my camper van, so that I can leave supplies on the kitchen counter and they won't slide off while I drive. Thank you Levi, and thank you Zack! BOOSTED x 2

Great setup and I would love to see the result of your camper van project. I want to build a camper van myself. I will make a 1x4 version for you. I am not sure what you mean by "screw holes in the bottom"?

I'd like to attach the baseplate to my wooden shelf by driving screws down through the baseplate and into the shelf, in such a way that the screw head doesn't get in the way of the gridfinity bins. I guess I'm picturing something added to the corner sections of the baseplate, perhaps in between two magnet-holes, that has an opening for the screw to drive through but a solid circle around the opening for the screw head to rest on. (I hope that makes some sense!)

What size do you need the baseplates and what type/size is the screw you are using?

This is perfect, but I could only find one other size other than yours with this configuration. Could you make a 3 x 4 and possibly a 1/2 size?

BOOSTED: Just what I needed, you're enabling me to greatly annoy my wife by 3d printing our bathroom shelves rather than going to the store... The great importance of our bathroom toothbrush storage being magnetically compatible with my toolbox storage system is lost on the rest of the household.

Prints well. I used $15/kg PLA with no issue.

Love it for the magnet holes and screw together holes. Will probably print quite a few of these for all my tools. Printed perfectly on my A1 Mini
