Description

Boost Me (for free)

Think this is pretty neat? Well give me a boost to help more designs like this come to fruition!

V5 Is finally here!

Assembly tips:

  • DO NOT use a hammer or excessive force. This will cause the parts to shatter.
  • Instead, apply an even pressure using a vice or a clamp.
  • If the parts still do not wish to budge, then please the male connector in the freezer, and the female connector in some warm water.
  • Print in petg, abs or asa, not pla. Pla is too brittle and will snap.

This is the most recent edition of my fully printable wind turbines. After many months of design, testing and iterating; I have finally completed version 5.

The biggest difference between this version and any of my previous ones is the fact that the design is now modular, this means you can make bigger better wind turbines with your standard printer. I plan to introduce more parts to allow you to customise every part of the design to your liking, and if there isn't a part to suit your tastes then here are template files (Onshape Template File) so that you can make it exactly as you want.

The blade profiles have once again been upgraded, now with advice from a close workmate, these blades are nearly identical to some found out at sea in massive commercial wind farms.

The connector for the rotating parts has also changed, now using a staggered design featuring five points of contact for maximum strength and minimum wobble, whilst being easier to assemble than ever before.

The wire frame tail is designed for you to put a thin waterproof material like cling film / plastic wrap between and glue together.
