Description

🛠️ Design Brief: 7-Inch Touchscreen Wall Mount Case

🎯 Objective

Create a minimal, secure wall-mounted enclosure for a 7-inch touchscreen (such as the Uperfect Touchscreen). Designed to hold a thin single-board computer (SBC), this case is ideal for smart interfaces or home dashboards with a sleek, flush appearance.

📐 Design Features

  • Wall-Mountable Enclosure: Slim profile for flush wall integration.
  • Clean Cable Management: Space for routing power and data cables through the back or side.
  • Ventilation Slots: Prevents overheating by allowing airflow.
  • Four-Point Assembly: Front and back pieces secured by four screws and heat-set inserts.
  • Modular Interior: Space designed to accommodate a compact SBC like the Radxa Zero.

🧰 Materials & Tools

  • Filament: PLA or PETG recommended
  • Tools:
    • 3D printer
    • Soldering iron (for heat-set inserts)
    • Screwdriver
    • Wall anchors and drill for mounting
    • Flush cutters and basic hand tools

🖨️ Printing & Assembly

  • Print Settings:
    • Layer Height: 0.2 mm
    • Infill: 20–30%
    • Supports: Enabled
    • Wall Line Count: 3
  • Assembly Steps:
    1. Print both enclosure parts
    2. Heat-set four M3 inserts into the back piece
    3. Place the touchscreen into the bezel, secure as needed
    4. Mount the SBC behind the screen using M2.5 screws
    5. Route power and data cables
    6. Close the case using four M3 x 10mm screws
    7. Mount to wall using drywall anchors or wood screws

  • Design can be remixed to accommodate alternate board layouts.
  • Ideal for smart home dashboards, room controllers, or info panels.

Im pretty sure mine was hosyond, its decent. The only thing I can recommend is that i found the airflow isn't soo great. If you want to remix it and add some vent it should help a little.

Yeah, i can update with more information when i have some spare time. Essentially the clips are the wall mounting mechanism. they hook into the openings on the back of the case

Unfortunately it does not fit a raspberry pi 7” touch display 2. Guess I’m back on the search for one that fits. 😢
