Description

As an MR2 enthusiast I am always looking for MR2 related items but have never found a motorised model.
That sparked a 4 year background project to set about designing and building one of my own, the result of which I am now offering to fellow enthusiasts.

In order to build this model you will need the following:-
  * Donor 'Rough Riders' toy car chassis (see picture for example) and these can be picked reasonably cheaply from eBay, especially as you do not need the body, wheels, tyres or shifter.
  * A 3D printer
  * PLA filaments for the body, wheels and gear stick (the final model shown uses 4 colours in a Bambu Labs AMS.
 * TPU filament for the tyres

 

In addition to downloading the PLA design you will also need to download the TPU Tyres file by clicking DOWNLOAD STL


This a collection of .3mf files primarily designed to be printed on a Bambu Labs X1C 0.2mm nozzle with AMS as it utilizes multicolour printing. That is not to say that it cannot be used for other printers or single colour (to manually paint).

To assemble the model you need to print the files and ensure that the donor chassis does not have any wheels, body, lighting strips, gearstick etc attached. You simply then assemble.

The final result should be the model (as shown in white) and if the donor chassis is in good order it will run in 2 and 4 wheel drive mode.

* Please note the 3mf files have modified filament change code by AMT this is to make printing more efficient/reliable but feel free to switch back to the default code if you wish
