N20 Gear Motor Mount for M3 Nuts

Mount commonly-available N20 gear motors to your project using M3 bolts and nuts. This version features recessed M3 nut sockets to make assembly into your project easier. There is another version with recessed holes for M3 bolts or screws.

This mounts fully encloses the motor gears reducing the possibility of foreign object damage while leaving the motor exposed for cooling and ease of soldering. It has been tested with bare N20 gear motors but should accommodate motors with soldered on connector circuit boards such as these straight shaft models from Maker's Supply.

3D print the mounts with the output shaft side face down for best results. If it's printed with the tabs flat on the print-bed, bridging may reduce the interior cavity size, and stressing the mount will make it more likely to break along the layer lines.
