Description

This is my grand piano music box, which can be equipped with the music box mechanism from the hardware kit “Music Box Bottom Winding Kit-K014.” The required hardware components are listed in the Bill of Materials.

In my print profile, I have grouped the individual parts on different print plates and specified the recommended filament colors and layer heights in the description. For each part, I recommend using the following filaments:

All parts can be printed with a layer height of 0.2 mm, though I recommend a layer height of 0.08 mm for the keyboard front panel for a finer finish.

A comprehensive assembly guide can be found in the documentation area.

If you are looking for a suitable chair for the piano, then take a look at the fantastic Piano Benches for my pianos from EYESTUDIO.

Thanks. I finally got around to printing this masterpiece as a birthday gift for a friend. I chose Bambu PLA Sparkle Black to make the whole piano look like a night sky full of stars. I repositioned the KeyBoard_BackPanel part. Rotated it 7.13 degrees, turned on the supports, raft and ironing to get a perfect front surface. In addition, I designed a simple gift box.

This was such a great print to give as a gift! The details are truly wonderful. I think I would switch to the 0.2 nozzle next time for the tiny pedals & wheels, but even on a 0.4 nozzle they printed really well!

I thought that I would try printing it on the 0.2 nozzle. It didn’t work out for me. the wheels had extraneous filaments extruded, and when I went to pick it off, the wheels broke. I ended up reprinting it with the 0.4mm nozzle, and everything worked out.

I’m reading about filaments under the Bambu learning courses, and it actually says that PLA metal, along with some other special PLA filaments, are incompatible with 0.2mm nozzles! Too bad I read their instructions after printing! I was so eager to print this grand piano!

Hi! I'm having trouble printing the first layer of the piano lid on a smooth plate. Tried twice, same problem; random bumps appears on the longest travel of the nozzles... any idea what might be causing this? Plate is clean and calibration is done before the print.

Hey, @destinyxw. What filament are you using? I had a problem because my filament was too wet and caused problems when extruding.

I'm using eSun PLA+, fresh out of the box and had no issues printing the other parts.

The print settings in the print job are for BambuLab PLA, have a look here, where eSun has put together how to set the profile: https://www.esun3d.com/uploads/eSUN-Fast-filaments-print-parameters.pdf

a few notes on my assembly that may be helpful. 1. I used no magnets, it seems totally fine. 2. I didn’t have M2 screws, so instead I slightly widened the screw holes by twisting in a small flathead screwdriver. then I added glue into the hole, inserted a piece of filament, and cut it to size. it seems sturdy enough!!

It’s been over a year since I started printing, and I’ve printed over a thousand different pieces. This is undoubtedly the most beautiful one. I gave it to my grandson who plays the piano, and he was amazed. Yes, I added the music box

What a fantastic design and print! Thank you so much for creating this. I made several for gifts for employees at a piano store I take classes from. They loved them and marveled at the detail and accuracy of the design. Thanks again!
