Description

This spool adapter will fit any cardboard spool with a hub size of 55 to 57mm.

Print with 10% infill (I used Gyroid) and with at least 2 walls.

Printed without top and bottom layers for the sides, looks nice and still works :)

I made a print profile for this - I just need to test it out. I'll upload it today if it works.

Inland rolls were a nightmare due to uneven cardboard spools. This print made them useable with the AMS.

This is what I wanted to do but how did you get them to fit Inland rolls? They seem to have smaller then 55mm.

By adding this to my inland role it was too wide. I couldn't use it and ended up ripping apart the inland spool. This resulted in my comments above which was when I realized that the cover doesn't close the entire way. The best way I found for inland roles is to just use electrical tape stretched over the role edge. It works perfectly and is supper simple.

it was a tight fit. you might have to put a specific one of the sides on first to get the two aligned if the cardboard is misaligned.

Print quality was very good. It ended up not being the exact solution that I needed, but the print and the model itself are great.

I was looking for an AMS Lite solution. Realized my error when I paid attention to print #1 (I was sleepy, it was late, download mistakes were made). Then I thought 'Well, how might this work for my Inland spools in the big AMS (as is intended)? So, I printed the full model. It's a great model, just not what I needed, and it was my fault. But the profile and work is great, so 5 stars =)

Until you put it in the AMS and the lid won't close.

I printed this a couple times with different materials. The print completes with no issues. The one problem I have had is the overture spool with the adapter on it is now to wide for the AMS slot. I have squeezed it into the slot but this just causes it to not be able to rotate in the AMS slot.

I understand your problem. I tried to design it to meet the majority of the cardboard spools out there. Unfortunately I cannot guarantee how wide the manufacturers make their spools. I hope you can use it on non- Overture spools. Thanks for downloading my model.
