Description

My wife asked me for something to hold her phone, drink, and Bluetooth speaker when she's in pool. So, this is what I came up with.

Secures to the top tube/frame of an Intex pool.

No tools or fasteners needed. The tray slides on to the frame and the support bracket slide on to the frame underneath the tray. Note that these are a fairly tight fit so that the tray and support do not slide off. My initial design had a pin to hold the support in place, but found the support and tray held pretty well without it. I may look at putting the pin or some other retention/locking feature back in for future revisions.

The frame is secured to the pool by a clamp with two screws. The threads are a fairly tight fit. This is my first go at modeling threads, so they could be better. However, I've found that tight fit on the screws helps prevent them from backing out. I ran the screws through the frame and backed them out before attaching it to the pool.

Printed in PETG to handle the heat & solar load. I wouldn't recommend PLA for this application.

I already have some revisions underway to reduce the material and print time. Feel free to drop comments with recommendations.

*****Updates*****

  1. An A1 Mini profile has been added.  The support bracket has a section removed to allow the components to fit on one plate.  The tray size has been reduced to fit on the A1 Mini build plate.
  2. Renamed the original profile “Version 1” and added a “Version 2” profile.  Version 2 addresses the biggest concern I've heard from you all and has drain holes added to the tray.  If you already printed the other components and are looking for this, just print plate 2. I've also included the support from the A1 Mini profile, which had cutouts added to make the print fit on the A1 mini plate and reduced the amount of filament needed.
  3. Added a profile with the A1 Mini tray with drain holes added. Works with the other components in the A1 Mini profile.
