Description
Veml 7700 outdoor case
Cover for veml7700 by adafruit, for outdoor weather station.
The box is divided into two parts. The upper part is made of transparent PET-G filament with 100% filling. The hexagon on top should help guide the light to one point, the sensor.
The lower part is printed from white PET-G, with 100% filling. On the bottom side there is a hole for a 19mm diameter cable gland. There is a 1.6 mm groove on the top for sealing. I made the seal by inserting 1.75mm TPE 32 filament into the groove. This should ensure IP44, which is sufficient for outdoor use (I do not guarantee). I only tried it in the sink and running water.
Screws
The model contains 7x M3 threaded inserts, which must be pressed in with a soldering iron.
All screws are M3 with a length of 10 mm, with an Allen cylindrical head.
- 4x for attaching the top part
- 3x for attachment to the holder
About printing

The model is printed from PET-G for better thermal stability and UV resistance. The hexagon top cover is printed with 100% fill. Although the light is dimmed, it does not refract outside the hexagon.
The top cover is printed on the supports, see example below.
I tried the bottom cover with 15% and 100% filling. Functionality is not limited in any way.
About project
The weather station project, I will publish gradually. This project will run on ESP-8266 / ESP-32. I will gradually publish the code on my github.
