Description

A remix of Julia Ebert's 3D print model of a human brain. She obviously did 99.9999% of the work getting this thing together, I simply added some support PLA material between the base of the brain and the top of the supports, about three layers worth. Base tears off with some force, but it will break away cleanly.

This was my longest print so far at a print time of about 45 hours and total time was probably closer to 60 hours. I printed it in Bambu PLA glow on an X1C. With all the filament changes between the PLA and support material there was a significant amount of wasted purge material. The filament changes also exposed a lot of issues with my AMS 2 Pro. Filament kept getting hung up and not feeding. I had to babysit the print and take apart the AMS twice. This maybe due to the PLA glow being an abrasive material. All in all it was totally worth it. This print came out at such a high quality and it is so detailed. This glowing human brain is my favorite print so far!

Close up of top and bottom, along with closeups of resulting support structure complete with three layers of support PLA printed on top.

Question: will the stand from Julia Ebert's original still work with this print?
