Description

Heyho!

Here in Germany the weather is quite bad at the moment but I want to grow some plants that need good some good light and higher temperatures than we have outdoors.

So I designed this plant pot to improve the “situation” at my window stills!

Design advantages:

  • More capacity, as no more space is wasted by conical pots! (Picture A)
  • Optimized center of gravity so that the pots are stable and don't accidentally fall down!
  • The shape bypasses the window frame in order to have as large an area as possible in the upper area. (Picture B)
  • The plant can be easily repotted thanks to the squeeze-out insert without damaging the root system. (Picture C)
  • Coaster to keep the window still as clean as possible. (Picture D)
  • Scaleability! To fit the pot to individual windows & stills. (Picture E)

Print Instructions:
You can print the pot in Vasemode. But I would recommend to use a bigger Nozzle/ extrusion width ≥ ,8 mm. If you use a ,4 mm Nozzle I would not recommend it.

Layer height doesn't really matter. I used PLA and had no problems.

The File “M_low” is the “L” file scaled down to 80% and 60% in Z direction.

Have fun!

if you put dirt on the outside it will get dirty yah xD If you only put the dirt in the inside it will not get dirty outside :D

bruh, because I created a vase with 2 walls and after a week, even the outside got dirty with dirt, so how many walls do I have to make?

Any container of any material will get dirty when you put dirt into it...

Excellent design! 👌☺️ Would you be interested in designing the pot so it is completely closed at the bottom I have switched all my plants to Seramis clay granules and for that I need pots without a hole ☺️ I would then print 10 pieces right away 😅 Regards

Hi :D You can also generate shapes in the slicer and "fill" the holes with them xD It's probably faster But I've uploaded an .stl for you Pot_bottom_closed All the best

Oh of course! I should have thought of that myself :D But hey, thank you so much for taking the trouble :) I'll print and use it right away My 'Auto' plants are nicely under an LED, but for all my other plants on the windowsill this is brilliant! =) Thanks again! Best regards

Works well. The bigger size is bigger than it looks in the pictures so measure things first. The walls are very very thin and I had some issues with layer adhesion, partially due to the thinness and partially due to adding very light fuzzy skin. I'd like a version that is about twice as thick or has some kind of extra reinforcement

i did not print yet but will as this is a great idea but i wanted to note that PLA is not waterproof and it will leak eventually so use PETG or some other filament that has better waterproof qualities. you can also just "coat" the "bottom " catcher piece with something waterproof like epoxy, paint or maybe a silicone gel
