Description

I have a 40 year old LEDU type 271 ring magnifier lamp that has not been used for a very long time, the diffuser that covers the florescent ring lamp to protect it from flying component leads (when you cut them off) etc. was very brittle and yellowed.

So I searched for one, could I buy one?

No - nowhere to be found.

So I thought, heck I'll get some transparent PETG filament and make my own so here it is.

I used some very cheap filament but found that using the "Bambu PETG Translucent" filament profile and turning the speeds right down enabled it to print OK.

In order to make it diffuse well the patterns are set as "Octogram Spiral" and the infill direction to 135 (-45) degrees.

Made with tree support although normal works just as well but uses more filament.

The photo showing it illuminated and yellow is because the fluorescent tube itself is also old and needs replacing to make it white again.

Any problems or suggestions - feel free to comment.
