Introduction

To play the Delta emulator on ios, I made this stand that magnetically attaches the iPhone to the stand and mounts the joycon on the sides, turning the iPhone into a gaming handheld.

It has been tested to support all iPhone series with magsafe, and supports iPhone placement in portrait and horizontal orientation. The other vertical mini model on my homepage is more compact and portable, and supports iPhone portrait placement.

You'll need a magsafe magnet to pause in the print and embed in the 3D print. Magsafe magnet should be less than 2.5mm thick.

If you have a different size masafe magnet, let me know in the comments and I will modify the model for you.

Have fun with it!

  1. 给模型添加树状支撑,切片后在magsafe封顶层添加暂停;
  2. 打印暂停后将magsafe磁铁放入凹槽中;
  3. 继续打印;

How to print

Since the iPhone series is different from the Plus/Pro Max series, the model files are divided into iPhone version and iPhone Plus version.

Due to the large length of the iphone plus version, which is close to the printing limit of A1 mini, it is not recommended to use A1 mini to print. If you have to use A1 mini, please use the A1 mini print configuration I set up to add supports to print.

How to print for iPhone

  1. Add tree supports to the model, and add a pause on the top layer of the MagSafe cap after slicing;
  2. Place the MagSafe magnet into the groove after the print is paused;
  3. Continue printing;
  4. Remove the supports after printing is complete.

  1. 给模型添加普通支撑,支撑界面选择另一种材料,易于拆除;
  2. 切片后在magsafe封顶层添加暂停;
  3. 打印暂停后拆除magsafe凹槽中的支撑;
  4. 将magsafe磁铁放入凹槽中;
  5. 继续打印;

How to print for iPhone Plus/Pro Max

If you have A1/P1/X1, the printing method of the plus version is the same as that of the iPhone version, and the following method is suitable for A1 mini printing.

  1. Add ordinary support to the model, and choose another material for the support interface, which is easy to remove;
  2. Add a pause on the top layer of the MagSafe cap after slicing;
  3. Remove the supports in the MagSafe grooves after the print is paused;
  4. Place the MagSafe magnet into the groove;
  5. Continue printing;
  6. Remove the supports after printing is complete.

This is a really great design, and I couldn’t be happier. I printed in PLA, and I don’t have an AMS, so I had to use the same material for supports. Based on another reviewer’s problem removing supports, I opted to print without the support interface (I just unchecked the option in the slicer). When the print finished, I very carefully removed the tree supports and filed the areas where they were attached. The controllers clicked into place perfectly.

The first time I printed this was with PLA and the joycon rails are very fragile and broke off when removing the supports. Reprinted it again using PETG and it broke in the same area when removing supports. Seems to be an area of easy failure. Needs to be edited with more thickness around where the joycons click in. Otherwise this is a fantastic print and mostly works even with the slightly broken rails. The joycon just slides out depending on how you're holding it.

We need a version with screw holes and cutouts for us to screw in the metal joycon rails from the wrist straps! This would alleviate all of the issues with this print, and it would be much more premium!

Hi, I'd love to print this. Two questions: 1. Where did you buy your magnet? I'm having trouble finding that type. 2. In the meantime, I'm going to try to stack several thinner Magsafe rings together and see if that gives me the same effect. Can you modify the model for a different ring size? My rings have an inner diameter of 45mm and an outer diameter 55mm.

For more context, I’d need this modification to the 15 Pro Max model
