Description

Make your hotend swap easy with these disconnect tools !

BambuLab X1 hotend miniature electronic connections can be challenging to handle; these tools have been optimized to make it easier. Also includes a beautiful storage box in Babo format for all your disconnect tools (AMS included).

Can all be printed with your 0.4 mm nozzle, except for the cooling fan disconnect tool that needs the precision of your 0.2 mm nozzle.

A lid is also now available : ) !

Print profiles have been prepared, but if you want to make your own :

  • cooling fan tool needs 0.2 mm, 0.06 mm high quality layer, 4 wall loops, sparse infill 50% rectilinear
  • ceramic heater fan was printed laying on its short side with no support using BambuLab PLA on a textured plate; other filament or build plates may require support

Personally I hate printing multiple plates if I don't have to but I love using multiple colors. I was able to make your design work on one plate doing print by object. If you would like the file I'd be happy to send it to you as it is all your work I just moved things around a bit. Thank you for the kit it is wonderful!

Good evening! Actually, the lid was added quite recently for one of our fellow so I just made it a simple, separate print profile, not thinking it would be popular (I am not using it myself) … but it seems to have some success so I will definitely consider combining all in the same print profile - thank you for your suggestion and interest 🙂!

Changing the printhead is not so easy, hence these disconnect tools ! Good idea for the lid - I'll design one today or tomorrow and PM you when ready : )

Ok.. Cool!! Just make sure there are a couple of vent holes in it.. It'll be worse that sorting out the nozzle connectors if it get's airlocked!

Good print. Have not used yet, hopefully they hold up. Bambu PLA used. Still have one tool to print as I don’t have a .2 nozzle….yet.

Thank you for the beautiful pictures - I wish everything could be done with 0.4 mm nozzle, but we really need the precision. Once you have the 0.2 mm nozzle, I am sure you will love the result with this tool, and also how beautiful your prints can be ! Cheers !

I plan to. I am totally new to this and learning so much. Didn’t know the printer came with two nozzles.4 mm and I had purchased a hardened extra. Had I known that I would have gotten a .2mm instead. All the extras I ordered came in three days but the printer combo took a month. I am putting together a new order today and that’s on the list, hardened along with the hardened gear thing.

Printing with 0.2 mm takes longer, and nozzle clogs more easily, so we don’t use it unless needed (precision or cleanliness). For your first time changing the nozzle, you will unfortunately not have both tools available yet, so be careful. Once you have printed the missing tool, things will be much easier. Let me know if I can help : )

Thank you for sharing these nice pictures - I notice the identification you added on the lid. The lid was a supplement designed later as per a fellow request so I never thought of also identifying the lid same way as the box - maybe I should modify it. I'm open for suggestions !

I thought about adding some text in Bambu Studio, but then I couldn't start the print from work.

Great little set thank you. Was pretty wild to see the ceramic heater build up at that angle, smooth plate no glue, lovely job.

Great set, unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to print the hotend cooling fan disconect tool because I was missing a 0.2 mm nozzle

Thank you for the nice picture ! I wish the cooling fan tool could be printed with 0.4 mm nozzle (I made lots of attempts, changes and testing), but ... it really needs the 0.2 mm to work correctly. I hope you will have an opportunity for a 0.2 mm nozzle soon !
