Description

All gridfinity basic bins, starting with 1x1x1 up to 6x6x12. Each file includes all heights from 0 (lid) to 12 (87.55 mm).

These bins don't have magnet/screw holes. As long they are used for Drawers or non-moving places you don't need them.

  • no labeling tab
  • labeling tab on the left side
  • labeling tab on the right side

The generated 3mf-files are all based on this openSCAD rebuild. I'm using them a lot, they work as intended, easy to print.

I've include all printable profiles. The 6x6 version isn't currently printable, so there is no printable file. The 3MF-Version of each combination can also be downloaded in the raw-model-files tab.

Bin Sizes in mm

for all that don't want to calculate the sizes:

If you're looking for an easy to print grid, i recommend Gridfinity base with snap connectors. If you have an Ikea ALEX drawer, here you`ll get all needed parts (inkl. spacer).

Other Tools used:

All files are generated with the help of a modded version of OpenSCAD-Bulk-Export. Check out this git if your interested in bulk-exporting from OpenSCAD

Printing:

Print it in any material you like. For most applications PLA is good enough. The slicer recommends a brim. With a bit of glue or the textured PEI sheet it doesn't move.

The 6x6 can`t be printed in one piece! Use the Slicer to split it as you like.

I´ve in also included print-profiles for all versions.

Additional Tools and Helpers

Parametric Model Maker

I've made a SCAD Version to work with the new Parametric Model Maker. Just download the “Makerworld.scad” (from Raw Files) and use it there. In the Customize Section, you can change most parameters the get the desired Bin you want. Use the button right next to do Download or use this link.

How to download the RAW files

Since the last UI change the download option is a bit hidden. This is the current way to download the RAW files or the File for the Parametric Model Maker.

Updates:

2024-02-04: in the raw files section you can find premade zip-files wiht all generated boxes for each size, starting with 01x01x00 up to 12x12x12. This should help to create any box combination you like. Note: not all files can be printed as one piece! All zip files together are ~ 1.25GB i recommend to download them one by one!

First of all thank you for posting these. Laying in bed thinking I could use one more 1x3 bin, and being able to print it without having to get up is pretty awesome! Only issue is that it could use more top layers. You can see the infill through the top even with black filament

normally it works smooth enough with 3 layers. For most of my prints i use 3 top layer (Bambu Studio default with 0.2mm height). Its not perfect, but its just a cosmetic thin that you can see the outlines. I tried it with an 2x2x9 bin With the generic PLA print profile and the settings in the provided files: 1 Photo Time: 1h4m Material: 45.17g (€ 1.13) With the generic PLA print profile and 4 top layers: 2 Photo Time: 1h5m Material: 46.62g (€ 1.17) Photo 3: side by side - left 3 top layer | right 4 top layer maybe i will change all print profiles, its just cosmetic, but if it helps why not. It will take a bit. Changing 100 profiles in makersworld is a bit of work ^^

it might actually be because of the grid Infill as well. I also usually print with three top layers and don't usually have an issue. but I also never use grid Infill

I tried triangles and tri-hexagon as infill, with more or less the same result as the grid infill. with my bins its still just an optical problem, but you can't really feel it. By adding an fourth layer for the top finish, you don`t see anything.

Hi, since the last UI change it is a bit hidden. 1) next to the Download Button there is a small arrow tip pointing down. click it 2) choose "Download STL", a popup window will appear. 3) in this window you can download all at one or in the folder "Raw 3mf export as Zip Files" you can download a zip file for each block or the file to use with the parametric Model Maker i hope this helps
