Description

This work cradle can fit many types of boat, but was designed to hold an IOM sailboat hull.

I wanted a tabletop stand for holding the hull so that the deck, internals, and sails could be worked on easily during building.

This cradle could hold an electric boat or airplane or whatever fits. It is designed to use two pieces of 3/4" PVC pipe. You can use any length for your project, but I used 16" (400mm) long pieces for mine.

Don't worry if you can't the get the exact same pipe diameter. I have included a version with a blank area for the holes so you can make them any size you like.

You could even scale the cradle with no holes to any size project you like! There is a photo showing this converted to a tall stand with some more PVC fittings.

Print a piece for each end and use some strong settings on your print, as you want it to last. I have the holes designed a bit snug so you will not need glue to hold the 3/4" PVC in. You may have to file or sand the hole just a bit.

Once printed, I used some 1/4" (6mm) thick foam with a self adhesive back to give some cushion to the cradle.

This is drawn in INCHES. You need to convert to millimeters if necessary.
