Description

The Rikskeff model helped me a lot to improve my knife sharpening results.

However, I missed a few things so I made the following changes/extensions:

  • 15° grinding angle for even sharper results.(The angle applies to blades with a width of approx. 80mm)
  • Angled ends to avoid contact with the whetstone.
  • Narrower versions for thin blades.
  • Double-sided design so that the guide does not have to be constantly repositioned.
  • Further design to be able to sharpen slim blades (The angle applies to blades with a width of approx. 18mm)

Have fun trying.

Sharpening Stone Angle Guide An indispensable tool for anyone who values perfectly sharp blades. The guide holds the sharpening angle absolutely constant, which makes all the difference between a dull knife and razor sharpness, especially for beginners. The construction is robust and glides smoothly over the stone without damaging the surface

Works fantastic! I cut meat for a larger southeast grocery chain and made a few of these for me and a buddy. Even the manager who's a "old school" guy was even impressed with it and asked me to print a bunch of them to keep around the cutting room!

Incorrect. Whet means "to sharpen." It's not a wetstone because you get it wet, it's a whetstone because you use it to sharpen.

Thank you! Yes, I know that... I've been trying for a long time to explain to my wife that sharper knives are safer - she prefers to use a small paring knife to cut up a pumpkin ;o)

Doesn't it touch the stone when sharpening e.g to keep the angle it has to touch no so i will also grind on the plastic ?

Hi you‘re right, the guide has to touch the stone to keep the exact angle. As long as you keep most of the pressure on the blade the guide will only slide on the stone and the plastic will not be affected to much. I uses my guides many times and they are still in a good shape.
