Description

The Teddy Bear was feeling lonely so I made him a cat flushimal friend. Flushimals are cute animal prints that can be used to soak up flush material on other multi-color prints and turned into useful keychains and/or magnets. I plan on creating many more in this line. If you have any suggestions for something you'd like to see, drop me a not.

This cat is a horizontal Flushimal, great for multi-color prints that are not very tall as they can soak up a lot of waste material if needed. Very useful for printing animal minis, small dragons, coasters, or other prints that are under 16-17mm tall. The model can be scaled larger or smaller to fit your specific needs to soak up just the right amount of purge.

To use for soaking up waste just add one or more of these to your plate, set to flush options under “Other” to “Flush into this object”, then set the sparse infill settings under “Strength”.

A good starting point is anywhere from 35-50%, Rectilinear. You can adjust the infill % depending on how your plate slices. If there's still a significant amount of purge material you can increase the % all the way up to 100, or if you are close to 0% you can try dropping the infill percent until you find a good balance. If, even at 100% there is still a significant amount of purge, try adding another Flushimal.

The magnet version is intended for 18x5mm magnets (because that's what I had) and they should stick out about 1mm from the back. I made the hole slightly larger to allow for tolerances so you'll likely need to use a bit of glue to make sure it's secure. You can resize the cylinder in the slicer to use larger or smaller magnets, but this piece may be quite heavy depending on your infill percentage so make sure the magnets are strong enough.

For bonus points use paint or an acrylic paint marker to paint the eyes and nose.

I am allowing commercial use of this print because I hope people will adopt the idea of using flush objects to reduce overall plastic waste. Please be sure to credit me if you do, however (see license).
