Description

It's not the easiest task in the world when it comes to producing a model that functions as intended and meets all expectations from users. Please take that into consideration whenever you're downloading that new fidget toy or desk organizer you keep adding to. I ask you kindly consider boosting ALL designer models as we have taken time away from doing something else we rather do either that be family time or playing a video game to make these models fully ready for 1-Click printing.

Boost Me (for free)

GOT BOOST!? Ask yourself these questions first. Did the model print successfully? Did you have to tweak any print profiles? Did the model achieve what it was designed for? If you answered YES to any of these then and only then should you consider a BOOST! Use them wisely!

šŸ†• The ā€œMagLinkā€ SplicerĀ

🌟 INTRODUCTION ~ ~ ~

*MagLink-Fitt ~ Uploaded to pair with a SUNLU S4 Dryer!

[ The ā€œFittā€ allows users to insert one end into the Dryer allowing the MagLink-Quad to attach effortlessly ] Ā

[ DOWNLOAD PROFILE ]

This model utilizes [4] 6x3mm magnets which allow you to [Connect aka ā€œLinkā€] PTFE tubes resulting in Faster and Easier feeding from filament dryers!

šŸ“šŸ› ļø BILL OF MATERIALS ~ ~ ~

  • [8] 6x3 mm Magnets LINK (US) - Avaliable from Maker's Supply! Both [5x3mm] & [*6x3mm]
  • OR
  • [8] 5x3 mm Magnets - LINK BELOW DIRECTLY TO Maker Supply
  • [2] PC4-M10 / Male Threaded Pneumatic PTFE Fittings LINK (US)

āœ… ASSEMBLY ~ ~ ~

  1. Make sure to [Add pause] @ [Layer #24] / Z: 3.84mm
  2. Grab your [6x3 mm] Magnets
  3. @ Pause [set] Magnets into holes with correct polarity! [EZ way is having them stacked and placing face down same orientation]
  4. Thread PC4-M10 Fittings with Ease
  5. Push in [PTFE] Tubes
  6. Enjoy seamless hassle free manual loading from a dryer!

šŸ“Œ IMPORTANT ~ ~ ~

  • Make sure to note [S] & [N] poles so they attract each other! Otherwise they won't ā€œLinkā€ together
  • Do not over tighten fittings!
  • HIGHLY ENCOURAGE [*6x3mm] Magnets for BEST CONNECTIONS!
  • If you use shorter/smaller magnets; Linking strength between [MagLinks] will NOT be adequte enough!
  • Test connection system before adding to setup
  • Don't forget to add a manual [pause] if you're using the RAW FILES & not our print profile!
  • Currently NOT RECOMMENDED for use between [AMS > AMS BUFFER > TOOLHEAD] Ā X1C & P1S Currently working on a permanent solution in the near future but as of now the risk of disconnection of [MagLink's] will cause [failure to Feed into Toolhead]

šŸ’¬ BACKGROUND ~ ~ ~

The ā€œMagLinkā€ system is a versatile mechanism which will continue to bring future mods to the community, brought to you by us @Protospyre LLC. This mod is an innovation that makes life easier when using dryers or other setups that require lengths of tubing. We use this and made it specifically for our Sunlu S4 Filadryers! Use [MagLink-Fitt] (Released New Print Profile!) to connect outside your S4 Dryer! or Link-up to ANY Pneumatic Fitting with a 4mm I.D!!

If you use the printing colour to encode north / south of the magnets you will always have two different colours to stick together.

@kreidler This is genius! I’ll see to it that we make that a profile for ease of use!! I’ll also ensure we add a stronger option for magnets. First starting this project the idea was to make the connection breakaway to prevent tension/tangles. P.S If you’re simply loading new filament you can push > through from inside the dryer > grab filament from outside > feed into print head PTFE Tube MagLink then let the filament feed and the Link will move towards the other indicating the filament is moving šŸ‘šŸ¼ I appreciate you’re review and advise and will strongly consider and make the necessary adjustments šŸ¤˜šŸ¼

Nice Idea. Somebody mentioned that dismounting is difficult. Just use the blade of a cutter oder knive to press down the lock on the Sunlu. Dismounts in seconds. Nevertheless my magnets (N35?) seems to be a bit weak.

These print beautifully! I made the mistake (contrary to the instructions) and used 2mm magnets, so they don’t hold in place, my fault as it was clearly instructed to use 3mm. Will re print and report back when I receive the right magnets. something I am not so sure about is whether these are better positioned right after the dryer or at the printer input feed point. I used a creality dryer not sunlu. while using it I wonder if opening a gap between the PFTE as this solution allows is helpful or not. and if just pushing and pulling the filament from the dryer would be the same, I guess this gives the comfort of not having to open the dryer. I’d love an explanation of how better take advantage of this solution :)

Thank you @johnfcooley ! Also appreciate your feedback and will definitely work on a revision to implement the use of the MagLink within the Sunlu S4 Dryer so we can have seamless integration and ease of feeding filament without bending PTFE tubes. We’ve began some other projects alongside this that have helped us so I’ll be adding more photos to this model so everyone is aware of what it’s intended purpose is. As of now we’re also testing MagLink on the A1 Mini for compatibility with the AMS Lite making detachment easy as well šŸ¤™šŸ¼ Thank you again!

Absolutely perfect šŸ‘Œ! I've been searching everywhere for a magnetic coupler with an even number of magnets so I can do N-S-N-S. That way orientation doesn't matter and all 10 that I printed are interchangeable.

@user_3023274096 Thank you for your awesome comment! Very happy to hear the MagLink is helping you out. I adapted the "MagFitt" and threw out a random name based off a user's feedback, if you come up with anyways to make the system even better for everyone don't hesitate to let me know! You can DM us or reach us outside of MakerWorld! Happy Printing!

They work very well, but if you ever have to remove the bottom, that's a challenge. However if all goes well you won't have to. Thanks, appreciate your work on this.

@johnfcooley Thank you for your review! Yes I noted this and will continue over time to see if we can't come up with a better method that's simple and all in one removal. Might be a [2] piece part which you insert [1] into the fitting which will stick outwards enough to push down > [1] into the mated part which feeds filament through. In the works! Thanks again for your feedback as well!
