Description

Design

These golf ball coasters are the perfect addition to any golf lover's home. With four golf ball coasters and one putter to hold them when not in use, it is sure to spark up a conversation.

Details

These coasters are roughly 100.5 mm in diameter and 4 mm in thickness. Two options for putters are listed. One with gaps that are 4.75 mm thick and one with gaps that are 4.25 mm thick. This is so printers with not as accurate tolerance can still print the set and have them fit in the putter.

No need for any support while printing. If tips of putter warp up mouse ears or a brim is recommended.

I really loved the putter, but I wanted the coasters to have a little more dimension, so I made my own version of the coasters that fit your model using the Titleist Pro V1 as a reference. Thanks for the great design!

What size did you use? The 4.75 or the 4.25?

My version of the coasters are the same thickness as these, 4mm, so they'll fit in either putter. The one in the picture is the 4.25mm version

First, THANKS for a great design! I'm a non-golfer so not too familiar with these things. Making this for a family member fanatic of golf. A couple questions: 1) I want to get the color of the putter 'right'.... as a non-golfer, I hear putter and think of the club. So it would be grey / silver? But then think it's for putting into it? Put it on the ground and practice putting? So brown / green? 2) The notches along the top - is that related to this holding the coasters? If so, how? Or a putting club has them? 3) and the little holes at the bottom of each slot? For water from the coasters to escape? Not too small? And anyone overthink like me? the point of coasters is to keep moisture off the table surface. Gotta keep the putter off of nice surfaces, otherwise the water gets on the table through those holes? Not intended as any type of critique. Just my OCD / overthinking!

I'm going to do my best to answer your questions, my son created this model so I may not know all the specifics. The base is intended to be the putter so grey/silver filament would work but it could be any color if your family member's club is different. I believe the notches along the top are a design feature of the putter my son used as the source for the design and don't have anything to do with holding the coasters. I'm not sure why there are holes at the bottom of each slot, I'll have to check with my son. I would think that prior to putting the coaster back in the holder they would be wiped off if any water was left on them. You could put some thin cork on the bottom to cover the holes and then it would also keep the base from sliding around.

Awww! Thanks! I appreciate you entertaining my over thinking! Nice that your son is so good with this stuff... Best I can do is print an STL file. And I have trouble with doing just that sometimes : ) If you don't mind.... Can you also ask if the putter is for being putted INTO / put on the floor and use the U shape as the hole for the ball? And yes! Padding on the bottom to keep it from sliding! I forgot about that! THANKS to you AND your son!

I believe the putter here is just a base for the coasters and isn't meant for anything else, but I guess you could use it to put an actual golf ball into!

Great print! I have added a 4.25mm Scotty Cameron style version to the print profiles. I'm a rookie and wasn't sure how to make the dots selectable. I just used the circle tool to paint the 'cherry bombs' on. Enjoy!

used the golf ball part to make a table setting for a charity golf event. I'll keep looking for a final picture. turned out great and they loved it. I gave them several so all the sponsors could have one.

These came out excellent. I like the top layer design of the putter head as it has some texture to it. These were printed at 0.2 layer height, will likely try the 0.1 file next to reduce the layering in the dimples.
