English

A Silica Bead Container for an Empty Bambu Lab Filament Spool: Preventing Moisture Damage

This meticulously designed silica bead container provides an elegant solution for preserving your filaments from the detrimental effects of moisture. Its form factor is precisely tailored to seamlessly integrate into an empty Bambu Lab filament spool.

Key Features of the Silica Bead Container:

Precision Fit: Expertly crafted to perfectly accommodate Bambu Lab filament spools, ensuring secure and snug storage.

Silica Gel Desiccant: The container is designed to hold silica gel beads, a highly effective desiccant for absorbing ambient moisture, thus safeguarding your filament from degradation.

User-Friendly Design: Effortlessly fill, empty, and position the container within an unused Automated Material System (AMS) slot.

Moisture Mitigation: By absorbing moisture within the empty spool, this container enhances print quality and minimizes the risk of clogs or other printing complications.

Sustainable Solution: The container is reusable, allowing for ongoing moisture control.

A Minor Caveat:

The AMS possesses a limited capacity of three empty filament slots. However, this container offers a remarkably efficient and compact method of filament preservation, guaranteeing optimal results for your 3D printing endeavors.

This silica bead container provides a secure and efficient method for storing your filament, actively protecting it from moisture-induced damage. It offers a simple yet highly effective preventative measure against moisture-related issues.

I am doing the same, for which I printed two of these It is important to print it with PETG or ABS because of the heat PLA will shrink somewhat when heated

I also designed a funnel to pour the silica gel back into the storage container I will put it on my page if you like you can download it (I printed with PETG CF that should hold)

The print quality with PETG is good, even without support. However, it is too tight and (*too wide) to fit a standard Bambu spool. Update: The model isn't too wide; it's just very tight when fitting my spool, as I used PETG as the printing material.

I have print many of this, and they all fit perfect.

I have checked the model and the dimensions are correct, so it is not too wide. The fit issue may be due to the PETG material or my settings. I have updated my rating to 4 stars. I'm having trouble pouring out the wet silicone desiccant; it would be great if there was a way to prevent it from pouring out of the three slots simultaneously.

Very good, I would wish if the printable spools were included in the print profile right away. Furthermore, I would like to see a version without the spools! - Printed in 0.16mm High Quality, with 100% infill, 4 walls, and a total print time of 9 hours - Bambu PLA Tough Orange (12300) at lower speed and without support
