Description

Blade sharpener

The edge of my Bambu scraper has become dull, so I made a sharpening gadget for it.
But it also works with a traditional razor blade or a kitchen scraper blade. The maximum blade size is roughly 25x45mm.
For sharpening, I used an angle grinder with a diameter of 125 mm, but other discs of a similar size are also suitable.
You also need a rubber string and two M4x10mm screws.

I made a simple animation for assembly:

Had bed adhesion issues with the gear shaft that flips the blade resulting in a reprint. Also lifting on the body.

It operates as shown. A few parts needed to be reprinted. Using the skip ability on the X1C was very useful for this. I was able to do everything from the app which is really cool to not need to open the slicer. As for the edge that results, not fitting for a razor. The angle is too wide. Also doesn't work with box cutter razors, those will catch the handle. Only scraper razors work correctly with this. It is an interesting design all the same.

has anyone tried using this to sharpen the filament cutter blade? I realize they're cheap to replace but I feel like it'll gimme a good couple hundred hours more with a light sharpening?
