I've always wanted a Tesla coil, so I bought this compact model to start with!

This Tesla coil is awesome: it can spark little lightning bolts and play music from your smartphone!

⚠️ DISCLAIMER: Keep ANY electronic device far away from the coil while running. It generates strong electromagnetic fields that can interfere and cause damage or malfunctions.

 

This project includes:

  1. Custom Toroid (Top Upgrade): designed to increase the electromagnetic field. It requires kitchen aluminum foil coating connected to the top tip of the coil. It works great!
  2. High-Flow Base (Bottom Upgrade): These coils get hot easily. I designed this riser to lift the body from the floor, maximizing fan intake efficiency while acting as a fan guard for safety.

 

Bill of materials: 4x M4x50 Screws with nuts and washers, and a aluminum tinfoil

 

Printing Tips: 3 Walls, 15-20% Infill
PETG or other thermal resistant material is recommended if your coil gets hot
No supports needed, print flat on the bed.
