Summary
After using JannesV laptop stand for several years with an older 2017 Macbook Pro, I decided to upgrade the design more to my liking from scratch in Fusion360. The changes are minor, but some things like the lips to prevent the front of the laptop base from rising up, and slipping off.
For assembly, the crossbar is intended to have a tight interference fit, but for maximum structural soundness, I used a spot of plastic welding adhesive, but I'm sure superglue would work fine, to secure the crossbar to the uprights.
This works great on both a Macbook Pro 2020 13" and Macbook Pro 2021 14"
UPDATE:
I added left & right vertical stl with smaller lip (9mm instead of 12mm) for MacBook Air (2020 M1). These use the same crossbar as MacBook Pro.
UPDATE 2:
I have added another model for HP Elitebook 840 G10 which is the same shapes, but scaled up (larger lip, longer bases, etc), so this may work better if this model is to small for your laptop:
