Description

Check out version 2 which can be printed on the A1 Mini here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1408037-march-madness-trophy-a1-mini-compatible#profileId-1461279

I designed this trophy up for my office March Madness contest. My team is called UACT (shown in the images), but I've included generic “March Madness Winner” plaques for 2024-2030. I've also included a blank plaque in case you want to customize your own using the text tools in Bambu Studio/OrcaSlicer (unfortunately not yet possible in BambuHandy App).

I printed the top in Overture PLA silk gold, the bottom in Overture PLA Matte Brown, and the Plaque in Sunlu PLA black and Sunlu PLA silk silver. Ironing is ON, so if you have a filament that doesn't like ironing at 20% flow rate, you might want to re-slice this one yourself. The plaque press-fit into mine well enough that I didn't need glue, but you could easily superglue the plaque on as well.

This trophy is intended to be used with an airless basketball (not included) like this scaled down to 50% (~120mm diameter): https://makerworld.com/en/models/218881?from=search#profileId-253732. I printed mine out of Orange Ninjatec Cheetah TPU, but you can slice it however you'd like. I just sat the basketball on top of the trophy so you get a fun functional ball to play with!

Enjoy!

Haha, that’s awesome. Our office got a mini hoop shortly after I brought this in too. Glad you like it.

So happy with this and the ability to customize the name plate with my own text using Bambu Studio! Used TPU 64D for the basketball and kept it loose. Wine bottle for scale ;)

This was a great print! The link for the basketball in the description seems to be broken, do you know where I can find a correctly sized basketball?

Glad you like it! Yep, I just heard about this from another comment - I’m going to add a new ball as soon as I have an hour to sit down and add it. in thereabouts time, if you go to my V2/A1 mini compatible trophy (linked at the top of the page), the print profile there does include a basketball.

I did print that one actually. it is a little small and does not fit the geometry of the larger trophy. I can scale it, but not sure how much bigger it would need to be.

A very nice model, flawless print. Used for a trophy with a Pokéball on top. Note, however, the mark left by the seam at the top of the trophy, nothing serious.

Thank you for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed the print! I love the idea of putting a Pokéball on top—was it for a trading card game tournament? The seams were a bit tricky on this model, and there are undoubtedly still improvements to be made. Version 2 seems to print a bit better, with less visible seams

Is there another link to the basketball somewhere? I see that model is gone.

If you go to the version 2 I have linked at the top, it has a basketball uploaded with the .3mf files. Thanks for letting me know! I’ll add a profile for a basketball to this as well.

Can the font be changed

The premade pats has a font that is modeled into the parts, and it can’t be changed. However, there is a blank plaque included that you can add your own text to using Bambu Studio’s text tool. You can add any font you want there. 👍🏻👍🏻

Check out the version 2 that’s linked in the description. a TPU profile for a ball is included there (print out of PLA Flex for better bounce results).
