Description

The Last RC Stand You'll Ever Need

Stop struggling with flimsy stands. This Universal RC Model Stand is designed to be the ultimate field and maintenance station for your RC airplanes, boats, and cars.

Why Print This?

  • Fully Adjustable: Sliding extensions allow you to customize the width for any model size.
  • Rock Solid: Uses standard PVC pipe for a rigid, durable core that doesn't wobble.
  • No Supports Needed: Designed for easy printing with no waste.
  • Universal Fit: Perfect for deep-V boats, wide-body planes, car, and more.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Select Your Pipe Size

Please choose the correct Print Profile for your local hardware:

  • 🇺🇸 US Users: Select the standard profile. Designed for 1" Class 200 (Thin Wall) PVC.
  • 🇪🇺 International: Select the 32mm Pipe profile. Designed for standard 32mm metric plumbing pipes.

Bill of Materials (BOM)

We used external parts to create the strongest stand possible while keeping print time low.

  1. Threaded Inserts: Ruthex M5x9.5 Brass Heat Inserts (or similar).
  2. Thumb Screws: M5 x 15mm Metric Male Thread Thumb Screws.
  3. Pipes: (2x) 24-inch lengths of PVC Pipe (See compatibility above).
  4. Foam (Optional): 3/8" or 10mm wide door foam (approx 3mm thick) for grip padding.
  5. Rubber Bands (Optional): Large bands for securing models during transport.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Print: Print the assembly parts. Tip: If using multiple printers, print the Base and Extension on the same machine to ensure perfect tolerance matching.
  2. Cut: Cut your PVC pipe into two 24" sections. Clean off any printed text with Acetone.
  3. Heat Set: Press the M5 inserts into the mating holes using a soldering iron set to ~275°C (for PETG). Crucial: Insert them on the flat side of the extensions.
  4. Finish: Pop the End Caps into your PVC pipes.
  5. Assemble: Slide the pieces together—the fit should be snug but smooth.

Usage Tips

  • Adjustment: Loosen the thumb screws to slide the grips tight against your model fuselage or hull.
  • Uneven Ground: You can adjust one side higher than the other (great for maintaining leveled planes on uneven field tables).
  • Transport: Use the integrated "nubs" on the extension slides to hook rubber bands over your model, locking it in place for the car ride home.
