Summary

You'd better print it by fixible material like TPU,but PLA still can handle this.You just need put it into boil water and wait it turn soft,then bending the model widens the gap and put cable in .

Funny print. Great for pranking my nerdy colleagues! I took the liberty of creating a print profile where the two halves can slide together, making it easier to assemble at work without the need for hot water.

What filament/brand did you use for the item in the picture? TPU or PLA?

That is PLA, which is softened with hot water and then colored with multiple layers of acrylic paint.

This model is very small and needs to be enlarged to a classic VGA size and the hole for the USB cable needs to be reduced.

This is a really fun connector cover, especially for those of us that are old enough to know what it represents. I printed several of the two halves profile. The "stress relief" on the thin side is delicate so take care, especially when removing the supports.
