Description

I recently purchased an Akro-Mills 10124 parts cabinet and immediately printed off some of the replacement dividers, but found I wanted to be able to put smaller pieces in, and at the same time stack them up. While there were plenty of such models for the small drawers, I couldn't find any for the large drawers, so I made my own!

There's a set for the bottom of the drawers with offsets for features in the tray, as well as a slightly larger one that only fits in the top. Each size has an empty tray, one divided length-wise and width-wise, divided in to quarters, and one cut up to hold a bunch of THT resistors.

Each plate has one of each tray as named, although two can easily fit on a plate if you want to double them up.

If there are other sizes that could be useful, please let me know or feel free to make your own with the included Fusion F3D.

UPDATE

Added “Full Quarters” to the CAD files.

I thought I'd share how my son is using these bins. He has spent hours sorting and organizing his eleventy million tiny Technic pieces and I've lost count of how many organizers I have made for him. If you take requests, as I have zero idea what I'm doing if it's not basically clicking and printing, is there a way to make the quad compartment bin full height?

Check out the CAD files, I've added "Akro-Mills Large Trays Full Quarters.step" which is what I think you were looking for.

Only one suggestion. The ones that have the dividers that are the full height of the drawer do not accommodate for the stoppers on the storage container for the drawers themselves, so when you put the divider in the drawer, you can't push the drawer in all the way. A piece needs to be removed to make that possible.

Good point! I'll try to remember this next time I'm at the computer to shorten those down. Thanks!

Very nice trays. Any chance in producing a 8 segment tray?

If you'd like to try the F3D is in the CAD files. Else I can make one up for you. Top? Bottom? Both? Full height? I'm assuming like this?

Alright - "full eighths" has been added to the CAD files. I'm, uh, a little full of the NYE spirits at the moment, but it looks right 😁

This is *exactly* what I needed for my Akro-Mills storage cabinet. The ability to have a bottom shelf and top shelf was very useful.

These are amazing! My 12 year old son is Lego obsessed and has three Akro-Mils cabinets for organization, yet they sit empty because the drawers are just too big to organize the tiny parts. These are PERFECT for him and I’ve already printed him 3 of the bottom level 4-section bins. They fit perfectly.

These are a savior! I see you have full 8, but would you be able to do a top and bottom 8? That way i could sort all my gagillion M3 - M5 screws.
