Cruise Ship Door Decoration - Life Ring

This is designed as a decoration for a cabin door on a cruise ship. The center of the life ring has a post onto which a 1", 2 ½" or 3" button can be glued. (If you don't have a button press, you could also use it for a printed logo of your favorite cruise line or a laminated photo.) There's a compartment on the back that holds a magnet. Because the piece needs to stay on the door when it's opened and closed, I use the base from 27 lb magnetic hooks that I already had from cruising. I also like to use nautical-themed wire ribbon to attach an additional button hanging down from the piece.
