Description

This is a display stand for Brick sets and can be used with many ships.

There are currently 4 versions of the stand for you to choose from ones with the studs designed into the stand and ones without for both 2x2 and 2x4 plates. using a OFFICIAL PLATE will ensure the sets don't get damaged as the different plastics expand and contract at different rates although this has not been an issue in the year that I have used them.

All 4 variations can be found in the print profile for you to pick and choose.

1.stand 2x2 with built in studs

2.stand 2x4 with built in studs

3.stand 2x2 with option for official Plate

4.stand 2x4 with option for official Plate

If you are using it for a bigger/ heavy ship such as the play scale millennium falcon, 2 stands will be needed.

Use the lowest layer height you can to avoid steps on the curved surfaces.

this can be printed without supports but there will be a small droop at the front2 corners

Good solid print. Took me a second to get the Dark Falcon balanced but that’s less the fault of the print and more because of weight distribution. It’s a great height for displaying ships. Good angle so that no part of the ships are touching the table or the print itself. Even the X-Wing has just enough clearance. Two thumbs waaaaay up.

Sure thing! I’m just glad they work well! If you ever decide to make variations with a 3x3 or 4x4 stud plates let me know, I think that’d be better for bigger models. More support.

Hi @Beeverdan how did you get the millennium falcon to stay on the stands? I have the same model as you but the weight drags it off of both stands and I printed the stands with the studs built in but it does not stick to the bottom of the falcon. Do you have any advice? If you do, I will be very grateful!

If you have already experimented with finding a balancing point, one thing you could do is print the version with the 2x4 for extra adhesion actual Lego works better as the tolerances are tighter. if you are still having trouble I could have a look into making a stand better suited for bigger sets like this. Hope this helps :D

Sorry to bother you again, but I am still struggling to get this to work. Could you please send me a picture of the position of the stands on the underside of your falcon? I would greatly appreciate it!

Great part! The stand is super stable and the X-Wing sits perfectly in it. Finally, the model really shows off in the display case. 5 stars!

there are print profiles for them (built in2x2 and 2x4) as well as the stl files following the same names. I just added the 2x4 built in plate as I seemed to have forgotten to add it. thanks for asking:)

Is there a 2x4 model without the bricks? I was able to get the 2x2 built in printed, but the fit isn't quite strong enough to hold medium sized legs. I'm not sure how much i want to tweak sizing too much.

I have not made a 2x4 model without the brick as those kinds of models weren’t as popular, tolerances do have to be quite tight for a good fit. one thing you can do is print the 2x4 model and glue a 2x4 Lego plate to it. or if you are happy to wait I can make a model without the studs built in I should be able to do it by the end of the week.
