Description

Update-

Added ASA profiles (with added brim ears for added adhesion) for additional options on printing!

Designed for a 2020 Silverado truck bed, but it fits at least as far back as 2007 (though slightly overhangs the indention in the bed side).

It's made for a 3/8-16" x 1" bolt (and corresponding 3/8" hex nut). I glued the hex nut into the bottom piece for added security (and so it didn't drop down in the side of the bed).

See photos for basic installation process. I printed in PETG but other options like ASA might be better for strength and long-term durability. Infill is fine at 15%, but I highly recommend a significant number of perimeters for strength (I did 8 for reference). I plan on painting them for added UV protection and to better match the bedliner. I didn't load test them to failure on this most up to date version, but pulling from multiple directions didn't result in failure with a fairly significant pull outward and upward by yours truly.

Requires support under the hook piece during printing but this is included at least in the print profiles I have uploaded. Would recommend printing in the orientation shown in the screenshot and in the .3mf files for maximum strength.

I've been looking for a replacement plug for this truck for years! Your print was perfect! I bought Black Oxide bolts, but they didn't have any washers in black oxide, and I don't think the stress is really in that direction, so I did without. These are great! Boosted!

Glad it worked out for you! Looks great and thanks for the boost! What material did you end up printing in out of curiosity?

Replying to @themapster :
Bambu PETG. I have a bed cover, so I don't worry about sun exposure. Thanks again!

After I started printing I did not know if they would fit my truck due to not having a year range that you made these for. I know that they will fit the 07-13 silverado years.

You’re right I forgot to put that in the description. I had designed it for the 2019+ generation/years but that’s awesome that it works on 07-13 as well!

Printed very well. Gotta be careful when installing to ensure that the back piece engages correctly but with a little care it fits well and is holding up so far.

Masterfully designed. I had one of the backplates break during install but I'm pretty sure it didn't rotate when i tightened the bolt. Thanks for putting in the work on this and for sharing your creation!

thanks for the rating and the boost! yeah the backplates are a little tricky even with the way I designed them to catch as they rotate. glad you enjoyed it!

printed @50% infill with ASA on H2C. broke one inside tab because the bolt doesn’t get harder to torque it just bends the plastic until it breaks and you can’t tell how secure it is until it snaps off.
