Description

This modular insert allows you to store all the pieces of the tabletop game catan including the expansion Cities & Knights and the expansion to up to 6 players for the base game and the expansion. All parts can be printed as is, without any supports and stay stack nicely within the original box. The box will fully and you have enough space to store the manuals on top of the insert.

There are two possible configurations depending on your settler version. You will always need the parts from the "Base" folder. If you have the newer version with the city frames and tiles, you also need to print the models from "Modern - City Frames" folder. If you instead have the paper booklets from the old version you need to print the files "Classic - City Paper Books" folder.

You have to print every provided part once, except for Player-Parts and the Cities-Tiles which you have to print 6 times, once for every player.

Compatibility:
I designed this for the Settler of Catan Edition of 2010. There have been users that had issues using my insert. Sadly there are various different versions of Catan. Before printing, please check, that your resource cards have a size of 45x68 and that your hexagon tiles have a thickness of about ~1.4mm.

Addition: There is now a second version supported that uses paper booklets for the citys instead of the frames from the more modern version.

Updates:

21.02.2026: Rework of most parts. Improved clearance, made the player part tray walls slimmer. Also added new optional parts for the "classic" version that does not use city trays but paper books for fracking the city progress.

08.01.2026: Added new STLs with increased clearances on all parts (+0.2mm). I did not have the chance to test these myself. If you do print them please let me know if they solve your issues.

03.01.2026: Published v32 - Updated Card-Holder-2 to add an additional card slot for city & knights victory point cards.
