Welcome to Brazil!
The monumental Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the whole world, becoming a symbol of the city and of Brazil.Â
This is one of our very first models, created in 2014 by MiniWorld3D founder & lead 3D artist Dany SĂĄnchez. It is made with considerations for FDM printing as a miniature, so it should be easy to print with regular nozzles & standard setups.
The statue is in Art Deco style, created by sculptor Paul Landowski and built by engineers Heitor da Silva Costa & Albert Caquot. Romanian sculptor Gheorghe Leonida fashioned the face. Built between 1922 and 1931, the statue is 30 m (98 ft) tall, excluding its 8 m (26 ft) pedestal. The arms stretch 28 m (92 ft) wide. It is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone, and it is not solid, contrary to what it may be believed, but has a steel structure inside instead (from Wikipedia).
MiniWorld3D is happy to bring this model to life as a homage to all the people of Rio and Brazil. This model was created from scratch by hand and brain to create a beautiful and stylized version of your favorite landmarks. Please give credit, it's all about spreading culture!Â

Printing Tips
Suggested parameters:
Â
For better details, print slow, such as 20mm/s for outer perimeters.
Fine-tune retraction to avoid stringing.
Perimeters: 2
Top layers: 3
Infill: as low as 5% or even hollow, especially if printed really small.
Supports are needed for an optimal surface finish under the arms. You may skip them if you print this really small. Alternatively, you can try printing the statue lying flat on its back instead of standing straight up.

Brim is recommended if you experience adhesion problems or wobble with tall, thin structures with a small footprint.
