Description

This is my version of Redd's Trawler from the Nintendo game Animal Crossing, New Horizons

The .3mf file only shows the first four colors from my AMS unit. Please refer to the documentation below for a full listing of the PLA colors that I used. I also included some helpful assembly tips.

Redd’s Trawler

Colors;

Hull: Bambu Mistletoe Green

Roof: Bambu Mistletoe Green

Curtain: Bambu Mistletoe Green

Flag: Bambu Mistletoe Green, Paramount Egg Yolk Yellow

Wheelhouse: Bambu Beige

Light: Bambu Beige

Crates: Bambu Brown

Plank: Bambu Brown

Smokestack: Bambu Gray

Tire: Bambu Black

Deck: Paramount Skin-Dark Complexion

Mizzen Mast: Paramount Terra Cotta

Fore Mast: Paramount Terra Cotta

Beach: Paramount Skin-Ivory

Printing, Assembly & Painting Tips;

  1. Print Hull with the stern sitting on the build plate. Add brim.
  2. Tie flag to mizzen mast with thread, two places. Apply a small drop of adhesive to each knot before trimming ends.
  3. To hang the tire, twist two pieces of 24AWG copper wire together tightly (cordless drill works well for this) to simulate rope. Wrap the wire around the tire and then bend to hang over the hull side rail. Trim and paint to suit.
  4. Rigging, if desired, twist two pieces of 24AWG copper wire together tightly to simulate rope. Drill hole through the top of each mast and the tip of the bow. Thread the wire through the holes and bend down to simulate the sagging rigging. Apply a small amount of glue to each hole and paint to suit.
  5. Crates. The .3MF file includes the crate without the tarp. I included an STL file of the crate with the tarp by modeling it 4X size and then 3D scanning the model (since I haven’t learned blender yet). You can paint it yourself in Bambu studio or print it all in Mistletoe green and paint the crate brown by hand.

Printed in Bambu PLA Mistletoe Green, Basic White, Basic Red, and Matte Grey. Painted with airbrush in grey, brown, and black. Also acrylic paint markers for some other details. Could have printed two layers (grey and white) with the wheelhouse, but didn't think of it til after the fact, and so I painted that grey instead. Used twist ties for the flag, and some old yarn for the rope. Green construction paper for the patches on the green curtain! Thank you again for such an awesome model! Really does justice to the Animal Crossing line! Printed perfect. Was fun to paint and build! Can't recommend your Animal Crossing prints enough!

One of my favourite prints. I also used some other models to replace the tyre and to add some floats.
