Description

The Orb Container is a unique spherical organizer to hold all of your miscellaneous desktop items. The design presented several printability challenges, but with some advanced part orientation and many iterations, it turned out great! I recommend printing with the front and top glass propped open and full aux fan to prevent warping and ensure the best overhang performance.

To assemble, simply slip the lid into the container and align the holes to the pins on either side:

Notes:

  • Remove the supports carefully!
  • You may need to use a deburring tool or razor blade to clean up rough edges
  • Take care to remove any strings or extra bits of support from the inside of the container. This will help keep things rotating smoothly.

Love the idea but my print failed twice miserably. The first time was a mess of spaghetti and the second time finished but looked so bad it's unusable. Any help to figure out what I'm doing incorrectly would be helpful. I printed on a A1 Mini through the Bambu app, so no support or speed changes.

Interesting 🤔 Do you know if the support tower on the inside came loose from the bed mid print? My best guess is the printer left extruded bits stuck in the walls because it had nothing to print the support material on top of. If that's the case, you'll want to improve your bed adhesion. Try cleaning the bed thoroughly with dish soap and water and increasing the bed temp by 5-10C. If there's a different problem, I would try running some test prints (maybe a benchy) to see if you encounter the same issue.

I'm going to try with a different PLA first. After looking at it, I realized it may be the PLA. I'll update later, cause I really like it. 🙂 oh, the support tower printed, attach and came apart just fine

Thanks for the info, I appreciate your willingness to try again! I'm wondering if there's a file issue or something along those lines that could cause a print that messy. The model was tested on my X1C so maybe something went wrong in the slicing process on your A1M. If you have the software, it might be helpful to open the profile in Bambu Studio to check if things look good from the slicer.
