Nikon Lens Hood for 18-55mm Lens/Gegenlichtblende

Hello Everyone,

This is my DIY Lens Hood for the Nikon 18-55mm Lens.

I made it for my D3400 because I didn't want to spend money on a regular one (and of course because I have a 3D printer).

It's pretty simple. The Locking Mechanism is not the same as you'd find on a regular one, but it fits pretty well.

It also fits in reverse direction (as can be seen on the pictures) so your camera fits in the bag with the lens hood on it.

I printed it in PLA but it doesn't matter at all, maybe ABS would suit better because it would look pretty cool if you acetone smooth it.

Also, the rounding can get a bit messy but it looks better than a chamfer.
