Hello: if you live in the United States, please look up “hazardous health waste disposal” or “sharps disposal” locations in your city/county. They are the best places for disposing of biohazardous materials at low to no cost. Additionally mail-back programs exist so there’s always an option to dispose of hypodermic syringes safely!

Resized and printed at 70x100x90 — perfect size for my small medicine cabinet, and 1” needles. (Took just under 2h and 64g).

simple and secure and cheap way to store insulin needles and prevent us from getting stuck by them when taking the trash out.

Printed with no issues and works great. The tab you slid needles through is one way, so no need to worry about kids getting into it.

Comes in handy for my weekly GLP-1 shot. With these small syringes I am sure I can fit like 2 years worth of needles in here. I will update you when I have to print a second one.

but then what. Biohaz guys won't take this. I run a tattoo shop for 17 years. They barely want anything to do with the ones they supply. What do you do with this when full? Pharmacy won't even take it if it's not a sharps container.

I don't know about any of that. I was just asked by someone to create a safe box for used needles.

This all depends on where you live. In my state, all except two counties, you can put your used syringes in a box like the OP made and seal it with duct tape. Then label it DO NOT RECYCLE and throw it in your trash. The two counties in which is the exception, you can seal them the same way and bring them to medical facilities or transfer and recycle centers which accept them. You find these on the counties websites.
