Description

Reel for flying kites. Handle with rotating ring.

Printed all at once. The ring rotates around the handle. Suitable for winding line or thin string.

The gap between the handle and the ring is 0.3 mm, the other version has a gap of 0.4 mm.

Inspired by the reels from Kites That Fly. Handle by Reel (dracicoleti.shop).

Prints really good and works like a charm! No more burning my hands or fiddeling around with those ultra cheap plastic handles.

Unfortunately, I have no clue as this was for a cheap bought kite for kids. If I should guess that's about 30m of thread but it could probably take up to 50m of thread

Print profile works well, even in PETG HF (i hadn't PCTG). Thanks, this model is much better than the handle that came with my kite.

Not sure what i'm doing wrong, but i printed both profiles on my A1, and they needed a lot of supports and I still havent been able to crack the two pieces apart so that it actually turns. I broke the handle on the .3mm and still can't get the .4mm to spin

Will I accidentally print supports into the gaps between parts? When I printed the model on my Ender-3, the first layer was problematic, causing the parts to fuse. I had to cut them apart, and then it was fine. The Bambu should offer greater precision.

not too recommended print with abs I've print 2 times first problem the outer ring is flexible like i mean not in place while the whole body is really stick on plate second problem more worse the outer ring or top ring broke easily when printing i use abs try on your own risk

This print turned out great. I haven't flown a kite with it yet, but it looks like it will work nicely. It doesn't turn as clean as a commercial reel made with ball bearings, but it is going to work well.
