Lithophane Christmas Tree Ornament(globe)
Print Profile(2)

Description
I was always a fan of lithophane models and this year I wanted to surprise my brother and sister with some cool Christmas tree decorations so I designed this globe which has a small shaft that holds the lithophane photo and it's easy to change the picture whenever you please. I also added 2 holes on the sides because I wanted to use the Christmas tree lights as the light source for the lithophane, but you can cover those up if you come up with a better solution. At first, I tried adding a CR2025-powered candle, but I didn't find it bright enough.
Print instructions:
Print the model face down and only add support for the lithophane channel, unless your printer can handle that(but mine didn't, I own a Prusa mini+). Optional, you can add supports for the light holes, but those are not mandatory. The inner dome does not require any kind of support so don't waste any material :D
Lithophane generation instructions:
I generated the lithophane on https://lithophanemaker.com/Lithophane%20Tag.html and I've used the following settings(the ones marked with * would be required to fit the model I designed, so if you adjust the model make sure also to adjust these settings):
- Image Type: pos
- Hoop: no
- Lithophane Resolution: 0.2
- Radius*: 25
- Frame Width*: 2
- Frame Height*: 4
- Hoop Width*: 10
- Hole Diameter*: 5
- Maximum Thickness*: 3.8
- Minimum Thickness: 0.6
- Center in X: 0.5
- Center in Y: 0.49
- Circle Scale: 0.98
Note: the last tree settings should be adjusted based on the image you use.
