Slide Membrane Clarinet
Print Profile(2)

Description
Using only 66 grams of filament, this instrument is an easy way to bring music with you when you travel or to add some extra colour to an existing ensemble.
The Slide Membrane Clarinet is based off of the design of the slide whistle, but it has a richer tone, like a clarinet, and a deeper range. It has a range of slightly over a perfect fourth. The exact tuning depends on how tight the membrane is, allowing a variety of possible keys.
To assemble, stretch a glove over the top of the mouthpiece and keep it in place with the ring. I like to use 2 or 4 layers of glove for better tone quality. Then, slide the larger tube over the smaller one, with both of them having their thinner-walled sides down, and put the mouthpiece on top.
