This compact character model features Chikkun’s oversized cracked eggshell head, bright blue prehistoric body, long tail, small clawed feet, and unmistakable side-profile appearance.

 

The finished figure makes a fun display piece for retro gaming fans, TurboGrafx-16 collectors, or anyone who remembers the strange and colorful characters from Bonk’s Adventure.

Design Process

This model was created using my usual AI-assisted modeling workflow.

 

I started with the goal of recreating Hatchet’s recognizable appearance as a printable display figure. AI tools were used to develop the initial geometry before the model was refined, prepared for multicolor printing, sliced, and physically test-printed.

 

The challenge was preserving the character’s extremely large eggshell-covered head, small body, feet, and long tail while keeping the overall model printable at a practical size.

• Anycubic PLA+ White
• Kingroon PLA Blue
• Kingroon PLA Skin Tone

Support Removal and Post-Processing

Tree supports are required for this model.

 

Remove them gradually and use care around the smaller areas, particularly the feet, toes, arms, tail, and the uneven lower edge of the eggshell. Avoid pulling large sections of support material away all at once, since the character’s smaller limbs can be placed under unnecessary stress.

Print Testing

I always print my models before releasing them so I can make sure they actually work and look good in real life.

 

Most of the time, I start with a simple single-color test print first. That lets me check the overall geometry, supports, and printability without burning a ton of filament. If everything comes out clean, I’ll move on to the full multicolor AMS version.

 

My prototyping and testing setup includes two Bambu Lab P1S printers and two Snapmaker U1 printers, which lets me quickly iterate between test prints and full-color versions depending on what I’m working on.

 

That said, if I’m already confident in the design—usually from similar prints or earlier versions—I might skip straight to the multicolor print.
