Description

Boost Me (for free)

This is a  manual scissor-style shallow water anchor system for a kayak or small boat. ( also can be motorized)

I built mine to 3 feet to keep it small and compact for my kayak, but you can make it 4 feet if you like. My maximum recommendation is 4 feet.

I will include a BOM for this build and pictures below for assembly.

BOM (Bill of Materials): Quantities below are for 1 anchor. If you are building 2 units, multiply all quantities by 2.

  1. Two 2020 aluminum extrusions (3 feet or 4 feet long, depending on your desired length)
  2. M4 x 10mm screws — qty: 15
  3. M4 x 16mm screws — qty: 9
  4. M4 T-slot nuts — qty: 23
  5. M6 hex nuts — qty: 6
  6. M6 x 50mm bolts — qty: 4
  7. M6 washers — qty: 12
  8. M6 lock washers — qty: 4
  9. ½-inch fiberglass pole (3 feet or 4 feet, depending on the size you plan to build)
  10. Paracord
  11. M3 x 40mm screws — qty: 3
  12. M3 hex nuts — qty: 3
  13. Gas strut 20 inch long 22lbs.
  14. Threadlocker paste (Blue)(Note: Red threadlocker was not tested, but it may work)
