Bass Trombone Mute Adapter for Bass Flugelhorn

I ordered a bass trombone mute, but unfortunately, it didn't hold or fit inside my bass flugelhorn and kept slipping out. 

To solve this problem, I designed and printed this custom-fit adapter.

The adapter perfectly compensates for the difference in the bell taper, so the mute now sits firmly and straight in the bass flugelhorn. 

The adapter can also be removed from the mute at any time. This means the mute can still be used with a bass trombone.

Tested with the Denis Wick DW5528 mute and Jestädt 7530 bass flugelhorn

Print Recommendation:

• Material: TPU95A (for grip and paint protection)
• Infill: 20-30%
• Walls: 3 perimeters
• Nozzle: 0.6mm

The adapter perfectly bridges the gap in the bell taper, ensuring the mute sits securely and straight inside the bass flugelhorn.

It can be removed from the mute at any time, so the mute can still be used for a bass trombone without any issues.

Tested with the Denis Wick DW5528 mute and a Jestädt 7530 bass flugelhorn.

Print Settings:

• Material: TPU 95A (for grip and surface protection)
• Infill: 20–30%
• Walls: 3 perimeters
• Nozzle: 0.6 mm
